Volleyball is a team sport. It requires the effort and support of everyone on the team in order to be successful. To this end, most volleyball drills are designed for the team to work together on. However, much like any other sport out there, the more an individual can practice, the more they will bring to the team as a whole. Because most players don’t live with each other, it is important to work on a set of volleyball drills that a player can work on when alone. Coaching younger players is fun and challenging.
Often a setter will be getting the third hit and they set beautifully to their hitter, but the ball needed to go over the net.
The third hit has to make it over the net.
Helping players understand that the first pass doesn’t always go as planned and that often leads to the second hit not going as planned either.
Good news. If the first and second part of the plan isn’t carried out, you have to make sure the third part of the plan is carried out effectively- the ball going over to the other side of the net. You can help plan for that. Some things to help your players:
